Disclosure

1. Summary

This page explains how rasternode makes money, what commercial relationships exist, and how we keep them from influencing editorial coverage.

CategoryCurrent status
Display advertisingEnabled — consent-gated via Monetag
Affiliate linksNot active — will disclose when introduced
Sponsored contentNot accepted
Review unitsDisclosed when received
Paid editorial placementNever accepted

2. Advertising

rasternode displays advertising through Monetag. Ads are only loaded after you explicitly accept advertising cookies via the consent banner. If you reject or ignore the banner, no ad scripts run.

  • Visually separated — ad units are placed in designated slots and never styled to look like editorial content.
  • Consent-first — ads load only after consent, and consent can be withdrawn via the footer.

3. Affiliate links

rasternode does not currently participate in affiliate programs. If we begin using affiliate links, we will:

  • Disclose the presence of affiliate links at the top of any article containing them, before the reader clicks anything.
  • Use one of the ASCI-approved disclosure labels: Affiliate, Ad, or Sponsored.
  • Never accept an affiliate arrangement that would require us to change a verdict, omit a negative finding, or recommend a product we wouldn't otherwise recommend.

Under ASCI's Influencer Advertising Guidelines 2026 and the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, failure to disclose affiliate relationships constitutes an unfair trade practice.

5. Review units and gifts

When a manufacturer provides hardware or software for review, we disclose this in the relevant article.

  • Return policy — review units are returned or disposed of at our discretion.
  • No conditions — we do not accept review units with conditions attached.
  • No gifts — we do not accept gifts, travel, or meals in exchange for coverage.

6. Editorial independence

  1. Firewall — editors are not informed of specific advertising arrangements before an article publishes.
  2. No takedowns — advertisers cannot request changes, corrections, or removal of coverage.
  3. Disclosure — any attempt by an outside party to influence coverage is disclosed publicly.
